What is SHIATSU?
Shiatsu: origins and benefits
Shiatsu sessions are traditionally practiced, lying down on a futon or seated on an ergonomic massage chair, for an approximate duration of 1 hour.
“Shi” means “fingers,” and “atsu” means “pressure.”
Shiatsu is a Japanese alternative medicine aimed at stimulating acupuncture points (without needles) by applying pressure or rubbing on them using fingers, the palm of the hand, or even the elbow along the body’s meridian lines.
This primarily preventive energetic discipline is based on the principles of MTraditional CChinese Medicine (TCM) dating back more than 2500 years.
It promotes the general energetic circulation of the body, releases organic, psychological, and emotional tensions, and controls respiratory, cardiac, muscular, and digestive functions.
Shiatsu helps reinvest in your body to recreate the precious connection between body and mind, to find the possibility to refocus and move towards harmonious well-being by balancing your ki (vital energy).
This technique allows you to let go, to draw from within your own answers and your true self-healing abilities.
